Improving a Healthcare E-Commerce Experience

Summary

Context

Monitors.com is a healthcare technology company providing radiology reading station solutions, including medical-grade displays, workstations, dictation microphones, calibration sensors, and related accessories. Their customers include radiologists, hospitals, imaging centers, and medical facilities that rely on accurate, diagnostic-grade equipment.

I led a redesign of the Monitors.com e-commerce experience with a focus on improving usability, product discovery, and conversion. In parallel, I managed a team of designers producing supporting graphics, product photography, and marketing assets, while collaborating closely with and managing developers to ensure high-quality execution. I also designed advertising, social media, and email campaigns to support ongoing marketing initiatives.

Website Design

Structuring the Homepage

The homepage highlights featured deals and provides quick access to Monitors.com’s primary product categories, best sellers, and sale collections. This structure supports fast product discovery and helps users quickly navigate toward products that match their needs.

Simplifying Navigation

Users can refine their search immediately with a single selection per category, delivering more relevant results and minimizing friction from making multiple upfront choices.

Clarifying Shopping Collections

Each product collection includes a short description to help users understand the product range and intended use. Key value adds such as warranty coverage, a 30-day money-back guarantee, free shipping, and hot-swap support are emphasized in the top banner to proactively address common concerns that could prevent purchase.

Enabling Side-by-Side Evaluation

The add to compare feature allows users to select multiple products and evaluate essential technical specifications side by side, supporting informed decision-making.

Presenting Clear Product Information

Product pages clearly present variant options, stock availability, and estimated shipping timelines to provide accurate expectations. The key product offers, such as the warranty and hot-swap coverage terms are displayed alongside contextual tooltips. This ensures users can access explanations exactly when and where they need them. The product page highlights features through supporting graphics, provides expandable technical specifications, includes similar product recommendations, and a reviews and Q&A section to support product comparison and validation.

Encouraging Cross-Selling

Users can add recommended products directly to their cart and view product details in a slide-out drawer without navigating away from the page, making it easy to complete multiple purchases.

Establishing Brand Identity

I designed identity pieces to establish Monitors.com’s brand and add more professionalism to their communications through printed materials.

Designing Email Campaigns

I designed multiple e-commerce sales and promotional emails to support product launches, seasonal campaigns, and ongoing sales initiatives.

Creating Marketing & Advertising Assets

I designed social posts, display ads featured on medical and radiologists sites to direct traffic to the website and increase brand awareness, and website banners and graphics to promote sales, products, and visually communicate key product features.
